In de productie jaren heeft Zündapp vele kleuren gebruikt. Enkele voorbeelden staan hieronder.
De instelling van ieders computer monitor zorgt er voor dat niet alle kleuren goed worden weergegeven.
Vergelijkbare RAL nummers zijn niet bekend. Het beste is om een voorbeeld lak van je Zündapp mee te nemen naar een goede verfwinkel; deze kan de Zündapp kleur van jouw brommer/motor scannen en een vergelijkbare hoeveelheid voor je samenstellen.

Vaak worden er vragen gesteld over welke verf te gebruiken voor andere delen van een brom- of motorfiets dan de hoofdkleur zoals boven beschreven. Hier zijn een aantal voorbeelden van wat in de praktijk gebruikt wordt:

Achterhalen originele kleur
Massink heeft een archief waarin voor de meeste München bromfietsen de originele kleur te achterhalen is op basis van framenummer.
Verf kopen
Er zijn een aantal adressen waar verf te kopen is, in spuitbussen of in spuitlak. Vaak zijn kleuren nagemengd op basis van originele onderdelen. Omdat de lakken van tegenwoordig simpelweg anders van chemische samenstelling zijn dan die van vroeger zal de kleur nooit precies hetzelfde zijn als het origineel (vaak zijn deze lakken nu bestempeld als onveilig om mee te werken).
